NC State’s FREE Annual Festival on Hillsborough Street

Packapalooza™ is a free all-day block party and street festival capping off Wolfpack Welcome Week at the start of the academic year. The community is invited to celebrate NC State in style with great music, kids activities and merchant specials throughout the day. Last year’s event had over 55,000 attendees with 300 vendor booths, and over 40 sponsoring organizations.

Packapalooza is an excellent time to Shop, Dine, and Play along Hillsborough Street. Visitors can reaquaint themselves with an old favorite or stop by a new spot and see what the buzz is about. Regardless, the best place to people watch is definitely from the comfort of a Hillborough Street merchant with a cold beverage in hand.

Check out the full schedule, including details on all 10 zones by visiting packapalooza.ncsu.edu.

Fun for the Whole Family

Families will enjoy a variety of games, food and activities throughout the day. The International Zone features opportunities to play African drums, learn how to write Chinese calligraphy, and get your picture taken wearing traditional Egyption clothing.

Additionally, NC State’s Pipes & Drums band will lead the Parade of Flags down Hillsborough Street at 2:30 p.m.

Autograph Signing

Come to the Wolfpack Zone and get an autograph from your favorite player, coach, or team at NC State. Meet Tuffy, NC State’s living mascot, in front of the Belltower or pick up tickets for the first home football game.
