The Dillon is Coming to Downtown’s Warehouse District

Kane Realty Corporation announced that The Dillon, a new mixed-use development, received rezoning approval by Raleigh’s City Council this afternoon that allows the work on this project to continue in Downtown Raleigh’s Warehouse District, at the site of the old Dillon Supply Company warehouse.

“We want to acknowledge the pioneering vision of Raleigh’s City Council”, said John Kane, CEO of Kane Realty Corporation. “Their leadership efforts in attracting Citrix to the Warehouse District, along with the commencement of Union Station, will create renewed energy and vitality in this historically important area of our city.”

“With the rezoning of this property, Kane Realty will be moving forward on this project to bring Raleigh’s creative class to live and work. By the end of 2017, the sidewalks beneath this new generation of people will be active with pedestrians shopping and eating within a block of neighboring employer Citrix, the public spaces at Union Station, and purveyors and entrepreneurs in the area around CAM.”

The Dillon is expected to provide 210,000 SF of Class-A office space, 260 apartments, covered parking, along with retail and restaurants along the ground floor. The project will make up 2.5-acre city block and sit across from the future Union Station. The Dillon Office’s innovative design will incorporate the character and design elements of the historic Dillon Supply building, while providing state-of-the-art, efficient workspace.

Kane Realty recently opened The Stanhope (mixed-use student housing adjacent to N.C. State University on Hillsborough Street) in August, and currently has one residential project and two office towers under construction in North Hills: The Dartmouth Apartments (opening in summer 2016), North Hills Tower Two (opening in spring 2016), and Midtown Plaza (opening in spring 2017).
