Whalebone Urban Surf Shop is the offspring of the 35+ year old Whalebone Surf Shop, owned and operated by Jim "Biggie" Vaughn and wife April, Nags Head, North Carolina.  They also have another coastal location in Virginia Beach and are excited about this endeavor in Raleigh.

Their daughter, Stevi, moved to Raleigh to open and manage Whalebone Urban Surf to offer a full service surf shop with quality boards and clothing.  Swimwear is available year round for the whole family.  Just need a bar of wax or a leash before your trip to the coast - they've always got that too.

You'll find brands like Arbor, Billabong, Boardworks SUP, Channel Island, Dakine, Electric, Element, Firewire, Hurley, Insight, L*Space, Lost, LRG, Matix, Naish SUPs, O’Neill, Olukai, Quiksilver, Rip Curl, Roxy, Rusty, RVCA, Sanuk, Sector Nine, Vitamin A, Volcom, and Vonzipper to name a few. Also Surfboards, Standup Paddleboards (SUPs), Bodyboards, Skimboards, Indo boards, travelbags, wetsuits, rashguards, longboard skateboards, toddlers and kids clothing round out the offerings.

Stop by and watch a surf video or check out an Stand Up Paddleboard demo (springtime)!

Of extreme importance to Whalebone is its quality customer service, where product knowledge and an understanding of the customer is the #1 objective. Not to mention the always popular Whalebone logo tee, (also available online).
