ABOUT IMURJ

Imurj is described as a collaborative music and art community center.  This passion-project from co-founders, Heather Burns and Karl Thor, is a place for all musicians, artists, teachers, and patrons to create, perform and engage in art. Imurj’s objective is to strengthen the local art community by providing an incubator for local talent, from amateur to professional, with cross-fertilization between performance and visual artistic mediums. Imurj’s 6000 square foot space located at 300 S. McDowell St in downtown Raleigh’s warehouse district (underneath the Whiskey Kitchen) houses well-equipped music and video production studios, as well as a café/bar with a stage for live performances, demonstrations, lectures, and seminars.
