Raleigh-based beauty company eyes corporate-based expansion in 2018
Raleigh, NC, November 9, 2017– Emily Cutts and Allison Conley, co-founders of Parlor Blow Dry Bar, announced today that Parlor has partnered with MDO Holdings, a Raleigh-based investment and management firm to make a growth-focused investment.
“We are thrilled to have formed a partnership with MDO Holdings that is aligned with our goals and core values. Together we will be able to corner the market of the blow dry bar and beauty bar industry, while simultaneously empowering women well beyond the Triangle,” said Parlor co-founder, Emily Cutts.
Parlor opened their first location in Raleigh’s Cameron Village in 2014 and began franchising in 2015. The investment allows Parlor to focus on adding new corporate-based stores in 2018. Several southeastern cities have already been identified as strong possibilities for the new locations. This deal also brings the North Raleigh franchise under corporate ownership.
Additionally, this partnership also allows Parlor to further develop the beauty side of their business through the continued development and expansion of their customized makeup line that was introduced in 2017.
Allison Conley, Parlor co-founder said: “Just because you choose to get your hair and makeup done, doesn’t make you superficial. When you look good, you feel good, and you spread good. We are breaking down the wall between beauty and superficiality. That is why we exist.”
The deal was formalized over the last few months between Cutts, Conley and MDO Holdings CEO, Michael D. Olander Jr.
