NOFO @ the Pig
In 2001, after extensive renovations to an old Piggly Wiggly grocery store building, NOFO @ the Pig opened in Raleigh’s Historic Five Points shopping district. The building still retains design elements that maintain the original character of the space, including a full service bar created from Piggly Wiggly food cans and dairy case displays; but the hand blown glass chandelier encircled with pigs is all NOFO. In 2002, NOFO was awarded the Sir Walter Raleigh Award for Community Appearance, for Outstanding Contribution Toward Enhancing the Beauty of the City of Raleigh.
The NOFO Gift Store carries an eclectic mix of funky furniture, kids stuff, lamps, linens, kitchen wares, mirrors, pet accessories, CD’s, picture frames, gardening stuff, baby things, antiques, pillows, chandeliers, bed and bath products, books, & gifts for anyone and everyone.
The NOFO Cafe serves lunch, dinner and Saturday/Sunday brunch. The menu includes soups, salads, sandwiches, entrees, and daily specials. Outside dining is available on the deck and NOFO has all ABC permits.
The NOFO Food Market features specialty groceries such as fine chocolates, novelty candies, beer and wine, cookies, crackers, nuts, sauces, pickles, condiments, whole bean coffees and tea.
NOFO gift baskets are particularly interesting because they contain a mixture of packaged foods, freshly prepared foods, wine, beer & gift items from the retail store. Particular attention is paid to presentation.
