The Candidate
The Office Coordinator and Membership Assistant position seeks a well-rounded, self-starter professional that is able to work independently on administrative duties including office management: greeting visitors, coordinating use of the conference room, stocking break room, scheduling of contractors, etc. In addition to these tasks, the ideal candidate will be able to assist on social media planning and serve as a data assistant helping the membership sales team, website management, assistance with the organizations signature events and creating e-newsletters and various other items as assigned by the Executive Director. Some nights and weekends may also be required.  This position will report directly to the Executive Director and will work in a team environment to accomplish the goals of the organization.
The ideal candidate will have experience in office administration, customer service, social media management, marketing, WordPress, Excel and must be self-motivated. The candidate will also need to be able to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at once, have reliable transportation and possess excellent communication skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills are indispensable due to the importance of positive relationships with board members, business members, government officials, volunteers and the general public. The candidate will also be flexible in that the actual day to day responsibilities and understands that some days may differ from what’s listed on this job description.

Qualifications:
- 4-year degree or comparable experience desired
- Strong customer service experience
- Strong written and verbal communications skills
- Ability to make changes to the organization’s website regularly, including blog-posting and social media updates
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, email marketing software, graphic design
- Excellent time management skills
Position Responsibilities:
- Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), who will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for GRMA’s programs, expansion and execution of its mission.
- Assisting Executive Director with additional projects and tasks relevant to moving the organization forward
- Process and welcome new members
- Post regularly to the organizations blog and social media sites
- Plan, coordinate and work with the Executive Director on special events as instructed
- Main place of work will be 4001 Hillsborough St., Raleigh, NC 27607
- Main hours will be Monday-Friday 8:30am-5:30pm with flexibility for night and weekend hours
- Must be highly organized, ability to multi-task and excel in time management skills
- Attend Annual Meeting and other member events as assigned
- Help create, proof and edit weekly email newsletter
- Update daily membership tracking sheet
- Assist with publishing membership profiles
- Provide assistance at events when requested
- As needed, assist with creating graphics
- General administrative tasks
- Valid driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
Compensation
- The First Impressions Manager is an exempt employee. Compensation shall be commensurate with experience and will include a monthly health stipend, retirement contributions and paid time off.
