MORRISVILLE, NC – In a display of support, Oak City Customs, a Zebulon-based custom furniture company, has recently completed and installed a completely personalized table at cost for the Morrisville Fire Department. This custom table has quickly become the pride of the station.
The Morrisville Fire Department, like many others, consider the kitchen to be the heart of the firehouse. When Oak City Customs learned of their need to update the “heart” of the firehouse, they comped time and donated extra resources to build out a piece that generations can use and take pride in. The completely personalized table symbolizes the strong bond between the local business and the first responders, highlighting Oak City Customs’ commitment to giving back to the community.
Fire Chief Tom Dooley expressed his gratitude, stating, “The kitchen is the heart and soul of the firehouse, so it was an important decision for us to make. I can only say great things about Oak City Customs. What started as planks of wood from their warehouse is now a custom table we are all so proud of.”
In an effort to maintain sustainability and support the local economy, the lumber used for the table was locally sourced from the triangle’s urban trees. The table itself is a 9-foot, live edge Hickory slab. It has a custom epoxy inlay of the fire station’s logo, custom fabricated base, and a polyurethane finish.
Oak City Customs didn’t stop there. They also built a table for the Zebulon Fire Station. To view this community project watch the video below!
