The Saleh brothers will celebrate Mother’s Day on May 11 by renaming Neomonde’s Strickland Road location to Sassool Cafe, Market & Bakery in honor of their mother, Cecilia. Sassool is a childhood nickname given to Cecilia by her father when she lived in Lebanon. Cecilia’s love for food and delicious Lebanese recipes inspired the Salehs to go into the restaurant and bakery business after they came to America in the 1970’s. Sassool will honor Cecilia by offering fresh and healthy Mediterranean salads and traditional Lebanese cuisine daily from 10am–9pm. The fast-casual Mediterranean restaurant will continue to serve the same menu that customers have come to love since Mounir Saleh opened Neomonde’s Strickland Road location in North Raleigh over two years ago. Sassool will also offer new daily specials in honor of Cecilia’s culinary creativity. Neomonde has locations in Raleigh and Morrisville, which will not be changing the name. The Saleh brothers are also partners with Greg Hatem in Sitti, the upscale Lebanese restaurant in downtown Raleigh. Sassool plans to host a grand re-opening party this summer for Cecilia’s birthday.
