Savory Spice Shop offers more than 400 fresh ground herbs and spices, 140 hand-blended seasonings, organic selections, and gift sets. At our shop, you will have the ability to purchase as little as a half ounce, which allows our customers to try recipes and then buy larger quantities after they experience success and want to make the recipe again, or try something new! The multi-sensory experience of the show begins before you even enter with a wave of aromas from the hundreds of apothecary jars on shelves lining the walls and the barrels filled with fragrant spices on seasoned wood floors. Coupled with a great selection of spices are abundant ideas from a friendly and knowledgeable staff. Customers are encouraged to sample products and have packaged only the amounts they need, starting at a half ounce. We offer spice-related products as well, such as cookbooks, pepper mills, salt grinders, mortar & pestles, gift sets, and more.

ABOUT US

We are Mike and Janet Johnston.  As avid home cooks and bakers, we have always loved the idea of creating new blends and recipes to share with our family and friends.  In 2004, we decided to combine our individual skills and experiences in marketing and in the retail spice industry to open the very first Savory Spice Shop in Denver, Colorado.  After the immediate success of our shop, we decided to take our concept a step further and created a Savory Spice Shop website, allowing customers to purchase anything available in the store online.  Building on the positive response to our Denver store and internet marketing, we were able to open a second shop.  Since then our efforts have rapidly moved forward, with the help of employees, family members and professional colleagues, permitting us to open three more locations in the Denver area and offer franchise opportunities.

Savory Spice Shop offers a large variety of blends and spices.  Our spices are ground fresh in weekly batches, so that we can offer the freshest possible product.  Our more than 160 blends are original recipes and are hand-crafted at our warehouse here in Denver.  Both are offered for sale in as little as half ounce and in either bags or bottles.  Savory Spice Shop also offers extracts, sauces, spice ware and even more specialty items.  We hope you enjoy your visit to our website, but stop into any one of our Savory Spice Shop locations if you are near.
