Wake County Bottle Shops Collaborate to make brew for Brewgaloo

For the first time, Brewgaloo is working with locally owned and independent bottle shops in Wake County on brewing a special collaboration beer! Eight bottle shops accepted the challenge to participate in this collaboration. Those coming together to brew include Crafty Beer Shop, State of Beer, North Street Beer Station, Tasty Beverage, High Craft, Bottle Revolution, BottleMixx, & Drink Drank Drunk.

Here’s how it worked out: each bottle shop submitted their choice of hops, malt and one wild card ingredient. All submissions were voted on and the winning combination decided the type of beer, a Rye Blonde. This bottle shop beer will be brewed at Raleigh Brewing and will be available for the first time on tap at Brewgaloo. All bottle shops that participated in the beer collaboration will have first rights to buy the beer and have it on tap at their establishment after Brewgaloo.

The new brew, “Rye Blonde” contains the following ingredients: Rye Malt, Wheat Malt Golden Promise. Mosaic, Citra, Tangerine, Orange Peel, Cedar Staves, Black Tea and a House English Ale Yeast.

This concept is sure to be duplicated over the years. It provides a unique way to support and promote independent shops while encouraging unity in the local community.

Come join us at Brewgaloo on April 25, 2015 in Downtown Raleigh for North Carolina’s largest NC Beer festival. Beer can be purchased by the pint or the taste and purchased in advance here. Brewgaloo will also feature food trucks, local vendors and live bands. We will see you on the 4th Saturday of April – a perfect ending to your NC Beer Month!

Brewgaloo is organized and presented by Shop Local Raleigh, a non-profit organization.
