Join us as we travel the globe to India during our next Global Eats event. Global Eats will be held at Compass Rose Brewery in Raleigh, North Carolina with the popular food truck Tan-Durm serving up delicious Indian food and vegetarian options. $8 includes entrance to the event and a plate of food.
Chef Nick Singh and BJ Patel are the owners of the Triangle’s Tan-Durm food truck, which specializes in North Indian Cuisine and Indian street foods. Chef Nick is originally from Birmingham, UK and BJ is originally from Toronto with British ties. Together, these two owners bring to you popular Tan-Durm dishes ranging from vegetable samosas to naan pizzas, and including authentic UK Indian dishes. Tan-Durm always offers a variety of vegetarian and non-vegetarian items, and their food can be modified to your liking.
Tan-Durm will also be a partner in a new venture in downtown Durham that will be offering fine ales and authentic curries. The owners of Five-Points favorite Bull McCabe’s Irish Pub, Rhys Botica and Malachy Noone, have teamed up with part owner of the Triangle’s Tandurm food truck, BJ Patel, to open an English-style pub at the current location of Beyu Caffe (335 West Main Street).
The London-style public house will offer a wide range of English, European and local craft beers, along with a fine selection of single-malt scotch. When it comes to the food, Patel will bring the South Asian flavors of his popular Indian endeavors, as well as an exploratory approach to British food culture. Expect to see dishes such as Curried Shepherd’s Pie with Patel’s British-Indian-Asian cuisine practically transporting patrons to the streets of London. Chicken Tikka Masala was invented in the U.K., after all.
