The Green Chair Project is a annual fundraiser that is open to the public four times a year to hold sales to raise funds that are vital for programs. Every dollar raised goes directly to providing essential furnishings for over 500 households a year.
Where is the sale located?
The Green Chair Project, 1853 Capital Blvd. Heading south from 440, we are on the right side (next to the Salvation Army Center for Hope). We welcome everyone!
What kinds of items are for sale?
Furniture, barware, art, china, crystal, kitchen items, lamps, rugs, pillows and much more!
In addition to used, vintage and antique furnishings that have been donated, we also receive new donations from local businesses including Bailey’s, Whisk, La-Z-Boy, Quintessentials and Trig Modern.
Look for brands including Vietri, Ralph Lauren, Dash & Albert, Baker, Drexel, Ballard and Fitz & Floyd.
Where do the proceeds go?
The proceeds from these sales help us operate sustainably and help support programs such as our Sweeter Dreams Beds Program for children in Wake County.
Why do you sell items that have been donated?
While our primary focus is serving families from more than 60 Wake County agencies and nonprofits, we open our doors to the public four times a year to sell furnishings that are not a good fit for the families we serve. Only 13% of our donated furnishings are sold. Most of our inventory goes directly into the hands of our neighbors in need.
