Triangle Family Services and Band Together UNITE

TFS

Christ Episcopal ChurchTriangle Family Services (TFS) and Christ Church of Raleigh are partnering together to provide additional services to people experiencing homelessness in Wake County.

TFS will assume operational responsibility for the Christ Church Clark’s Promise street outreach efforts, with the church providing funding to hire a full-time, community-based homeless engagement specialist as part of TFS’ homeless services program.

TFS currently provides direct financial assistance and comprehensive case management to Wake County residents transitioning from homelessness to safe, stable, and affordable housing.  Through this new partnership, TFS will be able to reach clients who may need additional support accessing available resources; through the street outreach intervention, they will be able to meet people where they are – literally and emotionally – in order to promote engagement and provide new hope.

TFS has raised $100,000 from new or lapsed donors during their partnership with Band Together 2018, with the result that another $100,000 will come to them from The Leon Levine Foundation in Charlotte.

“We are delighted that Triangle Family Services has successfully met the goal for this matching grant,” said Tom Lawrence, executive director of The Leon Levine Foundation. “The agency’s focus on family safety, financial stability, and mental health align with our founder’s mission, and we’re excited to see this investment inspire other donors in the Triangle area.”

Alice Lutz, CEO of TFS, commented that the challenge grant was a game-changer during the Band Together partnership year. “We are grateful to The Leon Levine Foundation for wanting to learn more about us and for deciding to make this major investment in what we are doing for mental-health access in our community. The challenge grant helped us appeal to lapsed donors as well as attract new ones who wanted to be part of this landmark year for TFS.”
