Duck
Duck is a North Carolina-based modern funk band dedicated to delivering a high-energy, soulful experience rooted in community and radical freedom of expression. Their new project, Funk Prayer, combines a powerful funk groove with a dynamic range of sounds inspired by the late 80’s early 70’s funk and disco movement. Their music is a potent, genre-bridging blend of hard-hitting funk, rock and soul that feels both classic and urgent. Every track is crafted as a pick-me-up, built on deep pocket grooves, electrifying solos, and the authentic, relatable storytelling of vocalist Donnie Deneil. Anchored by Sam Thompson (guitar), Chuck Rhew (keys), Chris Holloway (bass), and Anthony Ward (drums), the band’s collective approach ensures an intimate, authentic connection. Formed in 2020, Whoop evolved organically from Friday night jams in Bigas’ barn studio in Raleigh. Consisting of musical moments captured, distilled, and tastefully shaped into songs, the band’s celebratory yet introspective eponymous debut emerged to rave reviews just a year later. Since then, the prolific quartet, completed by bassist Nick and drummer Will, has been performing electrifying live shows – including Carolina Indie Fest and the NC State Fair – between the writing/recording sessions that ultimately spawned their album Just What? 2Digh4 (pronounced Two Die Four) is a country/rock/pop band founded by brothers Landon and Aubrey Digh from Fuquay-Varina, NC. Formed in 2014, 2Digh4 has played at multiple big events, including the Carolina Country Music Festival in Myrtle Beach, SC, the Coca-Cola 600 NASCAR race at Charlotte Motor Speedway, the N.C. State Fair, and the infamous Bluebird Cafe in Nashville. The brothers write original songs for the group, and while in Nashville, one of their originals got picked up by a highly-acclaimed publisher; an exciting feat in their career. More info. They have shared the stage with Saint Motel, Lawrence, Maggie Rose, LIT, Hoobastank, Steinza, Swimm, Alien Ant Farm, Big Something, Them Coulee Boys, and Lespecial. They have played Greenfield Lake Amphitheater, Brooklyn Arts Center, The Plaza Orlando, The Ritz Raleigh, The Fillmore Charlotte, Cats Cradle, Fall For Greenville Music Fest, Brewgaloo in Raleigh, The Big WHAT Festival, The Flatiron Greensboro, Bourgie Nights, Porsche Club of America, NC State’s Packapalooza, and sell out almost every venue in and around the Wilmington area, headlining and selling out Thalian in 2023 and 2025. They headlined Greenfield Lake Amphitheater in 2024 and 2025 and played Live Oak Pavilion for the City of Wilmington’s July 4th Celebration in 2024 and 2025. Waking April
Raleigh-based Alt-Pop duo, Waking April, delivers an enchanting sound characterized by a fusion of vintage-style synths, trip-hop influenced rhythms, and melodically expressive vocals. Their artistic vision, partially influenced by the groundbreaking work of Phantogram, Chvrches, and Broods, contributes to a fresh and distinctive take on synth-pop, making them a unique force in the musical landscape. Drenched in vintage synths, soaring vocals and driving drum grooves, married Electro-pop duo Waking April take their musical cues from the likes of Phantogram, Chvrches, and Broods while creating something distinct and fresh.
