Brewgaloo Nominated for WRAL’s 2016 Out and About Voters’ Choice Awards

Raleigh, NC—Shop Local Raleigh’s Brewgaloo, the largest craft beer festival in the southeast, was nominated for WRAL’s 2016 Out and About Voters’ Choice Awards. Brewgaloo is competing in the “Experiences Festival” category against four other finalists.

WRAL’s Out and About Voters’ Choice Awards receives thousands of nominations but only the top five of each category reach the final ballot.   The fifth annual Brewgaloo was the biggest year in the festival’s history with over 30,000 attendees, 90 North Carolina breweries over 40 food trucks, 14 live bands and 47 local vendors participated this year. Attendees sample beer by the pint or a 3oz. taster.

Brewgaloo takes place on Downtown Raleigh’s Fayetteville Street, assembling the community and visitors for a celebration of all things local. The first Brewgaloo only filled the City plaza, expanding a block each year in existence, now stretching from City Plaza to the state capitol and utilizing all intersecting side streets.

In addition to the typical Saturday event, this year featured the Brewgaloo Block Party the Friday night before the public event. The smaller Friday event was sample only, with 35 breweries participating.
