Celebrate Family Businesses…Nominate one today!

Dear Readers,

As I come up to a year of eating, playing and working in the Triangle, I’ve had the great honor and pleasure of meeting so many great individuals. From sales to C-Level, the quality of people and the companies they work for is phenomenal.

As 2016 begins to wind down, I’ve spent time thinking about what this area is missing. After giving it a lot of thought, and after countless discussions with the business community as well as my internal team, I think I’ve finally put my finger on what I’ve been looking for. So, for the first time, the Triangle Business Journal is launching the Family Business Awards program.

When we stop and realize the quality of family owned and closely held businesses across this great region, we should be proud and honor those who, for generations, have made this area a place to not only raise families, but to devote their blood, sweat and tears into family business enterprise.

Please join me in thanking Dixon Hughes Goodman who has come on as our Title sponsor as well as the Family Enterprise Center at UNC Kenan-Flagler Business School and Shop Local Raleigh as our event partners and several more supporters to be named as these entities share in our feeling of celebrating family business.

I personally invite you, a family business owner, employee of one, or those who know one well, to click the link below and nominate that company. Entries will be judged and will be honored at an awards dinner on Dec. 1. We are looking forward to learning more about what family means in this region of North Carolina.

All My Best
