Independent bookstores seeing and is continuing to see sustained growth

Nationally, the network of independent bookstores, including Quail Ridge Books & Music, has seen and is continuing to see real, sustained growth.

The continued and growing interest in shopping local has seen a resurgence of the role independent bookstores play in the community.  This was emphasized by the outstanding success of Indies First and Small Business Saturday. In an amazingly short amount of time, more than 1,000 authors responded to Sherman Alexie’s call to arms to support indie bookstores by becoming Booksellers for a Day on Small Business Saturday. They worked enthusiastically in more than 400 stores nationwide.  Eight local authors generously donated their time at Quail Ridge Books on Nov 30.

Quail Ridge Books & Music is an independent shop with a friendly, knowledgeable staff dedicated to providing the best in customer service. Founded in 1984 by Nancy Olson, the store provides a wide variety of carefully selected books, events, discussion groups and town hall meetings.
