Jenelle Botts Photography is a self made business created by Jenelle Botts herself. She is an entrepreneur, photographer and author. Before her adventure into the entrepreneurship world, Jenelle was in the army for thirteen years. Jenelle enlisted after the tragedy of 9/11 because of how much of an impact it had on her and our country. Thirteen years later, Jenelle’s son was born and she made the decision to stay home to be more involved in her children’s lives. However, typically after one leaves the military it is difficult to get a job, especially for spouses who move around frequently. Jenelle turned to self-employment to be able to have a flexible working schedule and still be involved in her kids lives.
Jenelle’s inspiration for photography came from her traveling overseas while being stationed in South Korea. Traveling is a special part of her life, so to remember it, she took photos. Not only for the visual image, but to feel what it was like to be there. Jenelle wanted to capture the smells of food, the sounds on the streets, and the warm temperatures being in South Korea. When she left the army and had kids, she started taking picture of them growing up to send to her husband oversees. While still wanting to capture every moment to make him feel like he is there. Jenelle had no prior professional experience of photography until she became friends with a professional photographer who taught her how to use different camera features. As Jenelle started posting more pictures of her family, friends of hers wanted pictures done as well. After that, the fantastic pictures she had taken soon became a portfolio and made a brand for herself.
Jenelle has been on this journey helping other military spouses become entrepreneurs. She is involved in the military spouse chamber of commerce, which is a non-profit to help build legislation for military spouses.
Jenelle takes pride in her artwork and enjoys designing her customers vision to meet their needs. She is very attentive, and customer focused while specializing in commercial photography such as branding and product photography.
