Happy Friday, Raleigh! Whether you’re watching the Big Game at a local bar or celebrating the Year of the Dragon, there are plenty of local things to do in Raleigh this weekend!

Urban Pothos Workshop at Hartwell 2/9

Hell Yes Ma’am Jams at Raleigh Brewing Duo 2/9
Featuring Cosmic Super Duo, Hell Yes Ma’am Jams is this Friday at Raleigh Brewing Cary from 6pm – 9pm! Enjoy your favorite RBC beer while listening to music from their outdoor, sunroom, or indoor seating. Well-behaved dogs are welcome to join in on the fun as long as they are on a leash! Orchid Care 101 at Logan’s 2/10
Learn the secrets of keeping your orchids thriving at Logan’s Garden Shop! Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned gardener, this event is perfect for anyone looking to improve their orchid-growing skills. 3:30pm-5:00pm. More info. 

Valentine’s Treasure Hunt – Walking Team Scavenger Hunt! 2/10
Guests will meet at Crank Arm Brewing (319 W. Davie St.) and then depart with their treasure map on a Valentine’s Day themed walking team scavenger hunt where they will use their minds and feet to follow clues, solve puzzles, and crack codes to find and unlock the treasure chest for a grand prize! The hunt involves walking a distance of up to 2.0 miles in total and will take place rain or shine. The hunt typically takes about 60 minutes to complete. Children under 10 years old are welcome to participate for free with the purchase of an Adult ticket. More info. 

Whalers Night – Canes vs. Devils at PNC Arena 2/10
The Hurricanes will honor their heritage on Whalers Night, which will encompass a number of throwback elements, including vintage Whalers sweaters and more! Enjoy the game and check out the local food options from The BBQ Lab, Gonza Tacos and Tequila, and Two Roosters at the arena. 7pm. Get tickets.

Unusual Native Plants of the U.S. Southeast at JC Raulston Arboretum 2/10
Join Zachary Hill, the Plant Records Specialist/Taxonomist at the Juniper Level Botanic Garden, as he highlights some unusual specimens from our native plant palette. Zach will show us some rare and interesting plants that he has seen in the Southeast on his various botanical explorations—from the habitats of the Blue Ridge Mountains to the Coastal Plain down to the Gulf Coast, including new species yet to be named. Many of these unusual plants are being grown at Juniper Level Botanic Garden as part of the garden’s ex-situ conservation program. This program is being offered in person as well as online. Super Bowl Cookie Decorating Workshop at Adventures In Bloom 2/11
Do you want to learn the basics of decorating sugar cookies and have lots of fun while doing it? If so, then this class is perfect for you!! You will practice basic piping and filling techniques and will walk away with 6 beautifully decorated cookies. You don’t need any experience working with sugar cookies in the past! All supplies will be provided. One workshop ticket is required per person attending. You may bring in drinks (wine/beer are okay!) and snacks. Last day to purchase a workshop ticket will be 2/10/24. Sunday Yoga at Trophy Maywood 2/11
Sunday Yoga at Trophy Brewing’s Maywood location. Meet inside the brewery or – if it’s warm and sunny – out back on the lawn for a 60-minute yoga flow! This class is great for all experience levels – beginners welcome! Bring your mat and any props you like to use.
