Meet the Owner: Barb Case of Barb Case Photography
Originally from California, Barb Case has always found peace in nature, using photography as a way to share the beauty of the world around her. Her love for photography began in childhood, inspired by watching her father develop photos at home. Over the years, she nurtured that passion by capturing family events and joyful moments.
After the passing of her husband in 2010, photography took on a deeper meaning. Turning to nature photography as an outlet, Barb began with a simple digital camera but quickly realized she needed more advanced equipment to truly capture the beauty she saw.
Her journey took a new turn when she discovered evening photography classes offered by her local school district. Taught by internationally recognized, award-winning photographers, some with work displayed in the Smithsonian, these classes helped sharpen her skills and deepen her artistic vision. With their guidance, Barb advanced through the coursework and spent countless hours practicing outdoors.
What began as a way to navigate grief has blossomed into a lifelong passion. Barb is continually amazed that a camera and her own backyard sparked a love for wildlife photography that now defines her creative journey.

One with Nature
Barb has photographed wildlife across California, Alaska, Canada, Hawaii, Florida, South Africa, South Carolina, and North Carolina, where she now resides.
Her work is meaningful because it captures the emotions and behaviors of animals in their natural environments, moments that cannot be found in zoos or through ordinary encounters. Some of her favorite subjects are the tender interactions between mothers and their young, though her portfolio also reflects many other striking moments in nature that catch her eye.
Through her photography, Barb hopes viewers not only connect with the emotions of the animals she photographs but also recognize their essential role in our ecosystems. She believes these creatures are of immense importance and deserve safe, protected habitats where they can thrive.
Bring Nature into Your Home
Barb Case enjoys attending art shows and community events as a vendor where she can share her photography with others. Her images are printed on professional-quality paper in small quantities, making each piece unique and special.
Her work can be viewed on her website or at the local markets where she showcases her art. Her collection features safari wildlife, birds from around the world, bears in Alaska, and many other remarkable scenes from nature.
As she continues exploring North Carolina, Barb looks forward to capturing the beauty of the animals and landscapes that surround her. Recently, she has been photographing summer in Raleigh at Dix Park, the North Carolina Museum of Art, and other locations throughout the Triangle.
