Meet Kristina and Zoe Stewart, the owners of Nons Salts. This mother and daughter duo are proud to run a women and family owned business. Rooted in tradition, their pinching salts and rubs are made from family recipes passed down through generations. What began with Kristina’s grandmother making a few batches each year for the family has grown into a business driven by the goal of adding flavor to people’s lives.

Seasoned with Love and Support
Kristina’s grandmother, Noni, handmade her own seasoned salt blends. These salts brought not only flavor but also love into their family’s lives. Originally from an Italian family in northwestern Pennsylvania, much of Kristina’s childhood was spent gathered around a lively Sunday dinner table at Noni’s house. But beyond the meals and stories was something even more lasting: Noni’s handmade pinching salts. Harvested from herbs grown on her porch and gifted to the family in big mason jars, these blends became a symbol of connection that carried through generations.
Many years later, Kristina and her father found the secret recipe for the salt their family and friends had always loved. Kristina knew from a young age that the salts had the potential to become something more. It wasn’t until years later that her family’s tradition found new life in Raleigh, North Carolina. After moving to the area in 2015, Kristina began recreating the family recipe, sharing it with new friends and neighbors who quickly embraced it just as her family once had. What started as a heartfelt gesture has grown into Nons Salts, a business built on heritage, local ingredients, and the hope of bringing people together one jar at a time.
The Owners Dish it Out
Kristina and Zoe have been cooking with their family’s recipe their whole lives. Thankfully, they have shared their favorite ways to bring their dishes to life.
Kristina’s go-to as of late has been their limited edition Jitterbug coffee rub made in collaboration with Black & White Coffee and Videri Chocolate Factory. She finds that the rub’s blend of salt, coffee, and cocoa pairs well with steak, pork chops, and corn on the cob.
