Born and raised in Columbia, SC, Haines grew up in an entrepreneurial household, with parents who ran their own business and were highly involved in her life. From a young age, Haines had a natural knack for organization, particularly during her time as VP of Programming for Clemson University’s Panhellenic Council—a role that sparked her love for orchestrating large events. After earning degrees in Industrial Engineering and Healthcare Administration, she moved to Raleigh to take a position at Duke University Hospital. She eventually shifted to a boutique consulting firm, Vynamic, where her passion for creating meaningful gatherings continued to grow.
With a deep-seated love for service, Haines launched Significant Events, bringing together her experiences from business management and her love for coordinating events. A Certified Associate in Project Management, she finds joy in creating seamless, memorable events while supporting clients through life’s most significant moments.
From Corporate to Entrepreneurship
Entrepreneurship was always a natural fit for Haines. She felt a desire to move beyond corporate limitations, where her growth felt constrained by rigid structures. Her transition to business ownership allowed her to channel her high energy and creativity into her own projects. As she puts it, “That entrepreneurial voice inside me kept growing louder.” With the unwavering support of her husband and family, she took the leap, creating a business focused on events that bring lasting joy and connection.

Naming her business “Significant Events” was a deliberate choice to reflect her mission of making each gathering a truly unforgettable experience. “I wanted our name to capture what we’re about—creating lasting memories for our clients,” Haines shares.
Haines loves the excitement and focus of event days, where she feels truly energized. “I thrive on the excitement and controlled chaos,” she says, finding satisfaction in being a calm, reassuring presence for her clients.
Challenges and Rewards of Business Ownership
As a small business owner, Haines wears many hats, from CEO to HR to finance manager. The hardest part? Balancing the behind-the-scenes work with her passion for event planning itself. Still, the freedom of being her own boss has been deeply fulfilling, and she takes pride in the trust clients place in her.
