North Carolina State Leaders to Kick Off 15th Annual Brewgaloo with Ceremonial Keg Tapping

Brewgaloo, North Carolina’s largest craft beer festival, is honored to welcome Dave Boliek, North Carolina State Auditor, and Luke Farley, North Carolina Commissioner of Labor, to officially open the 15th annual celebration in downtown Raleigh on Saturday, April 25.

The two statewide leaders will headline the festival’s opening ceremony with the official ceremonial tapping of the kegs, marking the start of a weekend dedicated to celebrating North Carolina’s thriving craft brewing industry and the community that supports it.

Brewgaloo has grown into a signature event for the state, drawing thousands of attendees each year and showcasing the innovation, entrepreneurship, and collaboration that define North Carolina’s craft beer scene. The presence of both the State Auditor and Commissioner of Labor underscores the significant economic and cultural impact of the industry across the state.

North Carolina’s craft brewing sector supports thousands of jobs statewide, spanning brewing, hospitality, distribution, agriculture, and tourism. From small startup breweries to established regional producers, the industry continues to drive local economic growth, revitalize downtown districts, and create opportunities for skilled workers and small business owners alike.

“Having statewide leaders join us to kick off Brewgaloo sends a powerful message about the importance of craft brewing to North Carolina,” said festival organizers. “This industry is built on small businesses, hard work, and community and it plays a vital role in supporting jobs and local economies across the state.”

The ceremonial keg tapping represents more than just the start of a festival, it symbolizes the collaboration between public leadership and private enterprise, and a shared commitment to supporting the people and businesses that make North Carolina unique.

As Commissioner of Labor, Farley’s presence highlights the workforce behind the industry, from brewers and servers to logistics teams and event staff, while Auditor Boliek’s participation reflects the broader economic significance and accountability of one of the state’s fastest-growing sectors.

Now celebrating its 15th year, Brewgaloo continues to spotlight North Carolina’s craft breweries, local vendors, and vibrant culture in the heart of downtown Raleigh. The event brings together beer lovers, families, and community members for a weekend of live music, local food, and craft beverages, all while supporting small businesses across the state.

With the official kickoff led by two of North Carolina’s top elected officials, the 15th annual Brewgaloo is set to begin with energy, recognition, and a renewed appreciation for the industry that continues to shape the state’s economy and culture.
