Retro Modern Grand Opening Party

NEWLY RELOCATED RETAILER IN DOWNTOWN RALEIGH
ANNOUNCES GRAND OPENING OF RENOVATED STOREFRONT

Retro Modern Furnishings, a retailer specializing in vintage mid-century modern, upcycled, and new handmade products announced their new and recently renovated location in Raleigh’s Warehouse District. The store is located on the corners of Dawson and Hargett Streets and their grand opening celebration is being held on Friday, April 29th.

Retro Modern Furnishings was recently awarded an up-fit grant by The Downtown Raleigh Alliance. Retro Modern Furnishings moved into a larger location downtown that is nearly three times the size of their original location off of St. Mary’s Street. The founder and owner, Kelly Wohlgenant, began her business by refurbishing and sometimes repurposing neglected vintage mid-century modern furniture. The new store still highlights her restored vintage furniture, but also adds a variety of other modern furnishings, art, lighting, textiles, and housewares created by other local and up-and-coming designers and craftsman from across the country and around the world.

“Going to local art, craft, and vintage markets and doing online research for my business made me realize that it is possible to furnish your home in a socially responsible, yet stylish and still affordable way,” said Retro Modern Furnishings founder and owner Kelly Wohlgenant,

Retro Modern Furnishings’ grand opening party is scheduled for Friday, April 29th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at 300 W. Hargett Street, Suite 24 in downtown Raleigh. The event is free and open to the public, and will feature fun refreshments and a giveaway of a brand new mid-century modern bullet-style planter. Sorry State Records will provide music for the event.
