Binky and Bell is a collaboration between Rick Gardner and Mark Bell. The two met in 2013 through a networking group and quickly realized they were both passionate about their hobbies. Rick is an artist with a love for dogs and Mark is a talented woodworker. Together, they are art entrepreneurs and collaborate to create original cartoon dog art to support homeless pets through rescue groups, shelters, and other non-profits. Following the sustainable model of TOMS shoes, Binky and Bell give 10% of their sales of cartoon dog art, t-shirts, bags, and stickers directly to rescue groups and shelters. Additionally, they host fundraisers and donate items to auctions that benefit homeless pets.
For Rick, dogs bring joy, happiness, and unconditional love. His artwork allows him to capture these feelings and share them with others. His influences include James Thurber, Charles Shultz, and numerous modern day graphic artists. Mark looks to bring out the beauty in the wood, celebrating its texture and grains, and enhancing the dog art creations of Rick. Mark’s influences include his background growing up in the suburbs of Detroit and Boston as well his professional experiences in Germany and Switzerland. Together, they are Binky and Bell!
