The Latin Effect was started by husband and wife team Rebecca and Bert Chedrani in 2020 in an effort to share traditional Latin American food with the Triangle and beyond. A former property manager, Bert enjoyed cooking for large groups of residents and preparing Thanksgiving dinner each year for both his and Rebecca’s families—an activity that he says came naturally to him. After the couple visited a food truck at an event one weekend, they decided that they could open one too. Bert, whose family is from Honduras, took a food truck class at Wake Technical Community College, found a truck on Facebook and tweaked his mother’s authentic Hondurian recipes to be better suited in a food truck atmosphere, and The Latin Effect was born. Their goal is to have an effect on Southern food culture and have North Carolinians realize that Honduras has great, fast food as well.
The Latin Effect prides itself on offering authentic, flavorful and fresh Latin American cuisine in a fast-paced environment. Our dishes emphasize unique flavors and ingredients that are often masked in Americanized dishes of the same name. At The Latin Effect you’ll find a variety of delicious tacos, taquitos, enchiladas and more.
