Carolina Brewing Company first opened its doors in 1995, making it the oldest active brewery in Wake County.
The story begins in Seattle in 1992, where founders Greg Shuck, John Shuck and Joe Zonin were home-brewing beer in their basement. Once they fine-tuned their brew recipe, they toured the Southeast for a new market to open their own brewery. They chose Holly Springs, NC. Since then, Carolina Brewing Company has opened a taproom and expanded into several markets across North Carolina. You can find their beers on tap and in grocery stores across the Triangle area. Their first kegs of their flagship, Carolina Pale Ale, landed in 42nd Street Oyster Bar back in 1995.
Year round brews include the Carolina Pale Ale, Wiggo IPA, Brown Ale, Hop Roar West Coast Style IPA, and Manestay Kolsch Style Ale. You can also find a rotating series of seasonal and specialty brews in the taproom and around town.
Carolina Brewing Company hosts weekly events in their taproom, see their events here.
