At the heart of ChopHouse BBQ is our Chef Marcus, whose culinary journey began during his childhood. Growing up in eastern NC, he was exposed to the art of cooking from an early age. From grilling with his dad to joining cooking sessions with his mom and numerous aunts in the kitchen, his connection to food was ignited early on. Tending the fire to mastering the perfect seasoning, his roots are deeply intertwined with the aroma of sizzling meats and the laughter of large family gatherings.
Driven by his passion, Chef Marcus pursued formal culinary education, attending The Chef Academy. This journey refined his skills and deepened his appreciation for the intricate nuances of flavor and technique. Yet, his heart remains grounded in the rustic cooking techniques he learned as a child, ensuring that each dish carries the soulful essence of tradition.
