About Hot Chix Hotcakes And Chicken
I actually came up with the idea in 2014 while joking with my friend. He jokingly said he was going into the chicken and waffles business so to one up him I said “I’m going into the chicken and pancakes business” and immediately I said “I’m calling it Hot Chix” as a designer by trade I went home and created the logo, branding and I even mocked up a truck design. The more I thought about the concept the better it sounded. Whitney and I have been fans of food trucks for a long time but with 4 kids who are not interested in korean bbq, dumplings or pretty much anything. I knew they all loved pancakes and chicken tenders. I pitched the idea a few times and everyone thought it was a great idea. Finally at the end of 2016 we decided to make Hot Chix a reality. We sacrificed and did everything we could to get the first truck (actually a trailer) built. We tried to tackle all the regulation, insurance, fees, permits and miscellaneous expense that go along with starting a food truck. It was a lot and we were very surprised by how much we did not know. We submitted all of our paper work in February of 2017 and the truck was approved in May of 2017.
Now we’re asking the triangle “How Do You Like Your Chix”? We serve delicious hotcakes, fried chicken strips with gourmet sauces and tater tots. The menu includes a “Spicy Chix”, “Sweet Chix” and even a “B.A.D Chix”. (B.A.D Breakfast All Day) That includes eggs, bacon, cheese and syrup drizzle all layered on top of a crispy chicken strip and nestled in a hotcake. It’s sweet and savory in the palm of your hand!
