Who We Are
The Bamboo Cookhouse is a food truck serving up savory Philippine cuisines, classic Filipino dishes, and all-time favorite Filipino street foods. This mobile kitchen goes all over the Triangle to satisfy the taste buds of those craving authentic Filipino foods.
In 2018, they were named as the News & Observer’s 26 best food trucks.
Meet the Owners
The owners are Tim and Madz Igelman. Madz grew up in the Phillipines and worked at previous restaurants in Singapore and Florida. She moved to Chicago where she met her husband, Tim, and both moved down to North Carolina in 2013. A year later, The Bamboo Cookhouse was born. Now, they travel and pop-up all over the Wake County and Durham areas to share their story and their food with regular customers and new customers!
Food
As appetizers, they serve lumpia, vegetable rolls, cheese sticks (not like your average cheese sticks!), and shrimp chips.
Entrees include Pancit Bihon (there is also a vegetarian and vegan option), Filipino BB-Q, Pork Sisig (gluten free), and Sisig Mac & Cheese. All of these options can be made into combos!
And last, but not least, dessert! Ube Flan is one of there homemade desserts but sometimes they partner with local dessert businesses in the Raleigh and Durham areas depending on where they will be.
Their most popular dish is the Pork Sisig (bits of pork cooked to perfection seasoned with spices and topped with pico de gallo with a side of rice).
