Welcome to the Bijoux family!
Bijoux by Catherine is not just a jewelry brand. It’s a community of confident women. Metalsmithed by hand in North Carolina using recycled gold and sterling silver, and ethically mined gemstones.
Cat began making jewelry in 2015 as a way to help pay for a college course abroad. She loved having an outlet to pour her creative energy into. Hanging out with friends turned into a fun gathering sitting on the dorm room floor, designing jewelry, as the hours passed by. All of a sudden, Bijoux was born.
What does Bijoux mean, anyway?
My name is Cat, I’m the owner and designer of Bijoux. When I began making jewelry, I had no idea what to name my brand. With help and inspiration from my Grandfather, Chuck (who used to live near the French Quarter in New Orleans), we decided on using the name “Bijoux”, which roughly translates from French to “jewels”. He always told me to invest in myself and my business and to learn how to make “the good stuff”. After his passing in 2020, I took the plunge and began teaching myself how to metalsmith. I know create jewelry with real gold and silver, and can proudly say that I make ” the good stuff”.
One of my favorite parts about owning a business is being able to give back to the community. If you haven’t heard, we donate $1 from every order to a new charitable organization each quarter. We rotate these quarterly, so there are four non-profits per year. Together, we raised almost $3,000 last year.
Thank you so much for supporting a local business and family! I am so thankful for YOU!
XO, Catherine
