Carolina Ballet creates community through a diverse repertoire of ballets that showcase great classics and new works by current choreographers and composers, and employ talented dancers, designers, artisans and musicians for their creation. In collaboration with the School of Carolina Ballet, the company provides training and development to young and emerging dancers and creates a culture around the art form that offers purpose.

The tenets of Carolina Ballet’s mission are to attract, develop and retain excellent dancers and artistic personnel, through the efforts of a fiscally responsible management team and board of directors. The company commissions new works by innovative choreographers and presents the traditional ballets of legendary masters. The Ballet also educates current and future audiences through programs for school children and young adults and other outreach activities. In order to accomplish our mission, the company cultivates a strong base of ticket buyers and patrons whose continued generous support allows Carolina Ballet to thrive.

As an art form, ballet is as relevant today as it was during its beginnings more than 300 years ago. It is our strong belief that ballet can provide experiences that are meaningful to an ever-growing, diverse and inclusive audience. Through live performances, our patrons are able to connect to others within our community.
