Chef Adé Carrena is a celebrated chef and storyteller specializing in Neo-West African cuisine, renowned for her innovative approach to culinary arts and her profound impact on cultural dialogue. Awarded the North Carolina Restaurant and Lodging Association’s 2023 Chef of the Year and honored with the Best documentary short award at the Longleaf Film Festival for her debut film Bite of Bénin, Adé’s work embodies a unique blend of culinary excellence and impactful storytelling. Chef Adé is also a 2023 Got to Be NC ambassador.

Chef Adé Carrena uses food as a transformative medium for storytelling, empowerment, and healing, demonstrating its profound power to connect, inspire, and bring on meaningful change.
