About Our Host
Mary Angelini is the co-founder of Gabi’s, an organization dedicated to empowering adults with special needs through meaningful employment opportunities. Motivated by the challenges her daughter Gabi faced in securing a job despite her enthusiasm and vibrant personality, Mary recognized the widespread discrimination against individuals with special abilities, with only 18% employed. This realization led her to establish Gabi’s, which now operates two nonprofit ventures—Gabi’s Grounds and Gabi’s PALS—employing over 40 individuals.
Gabi’s Grounds offers private-label coffee blends created in collaboration with Larry’s Coffee in Raleigh, North Carolina, available online, in local stores, and at their warehouse. Gabi’s PALS (Packaging, Assembling, Labeling, and Shipping) provides fulfillment services to various organizations, handling tasks such as packaging, labeling, and shipping orders. Under Mary’s leadership, Gabi’s has grown significantly, moving into a larger warehouse space in 2024 to accommodate the expanding operations and continue its mission of fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment for adults with special needs.
