About Our Host
Ship Community Outreach is a nonprofit organization based in Raleigh with a mission to be neighbors working to fill in the gaps that keep people from thriving.
To achieve their mission, Ship Community Outreach implements several initiatives:
Galley Grocery: A subsidized grocery store providing affordable food options to the community.
Bread of Life: A program distributing food and clothing to those in need through various community outreaches.
The Ship Yard: A free weightlifting facility offering nutrition counseling and youth camps to promote healthy living.
Transitional Employment Initiative: An employment readiness training program designed to equip individuals with the skills needed for gainful employment.
Anti-Trafficking Initiative: A street-level intervention aimed at combating human trafficking in the community.
Through these programs, Ship Community Outreach addresses critical needs such as food insecurity, poverty alleviation, crime prevention, healthy living, employment readiness, life skills training, and human trafficking intervention, striving to uplift and empower the communities they serve.
Our time will be spent not only networking, but also in helping to organize inventory for the retail store where clients can “shop” for clothes with dignity while they work to rehabilitate those most in need.
