Building UpFit Grant

On January 5th, the city of Raleigh is opening their 1:1 matching, Building Up-Fit grant. This matching reimbursement program strives to help small business owners invest in property improvements, by matching up to 50 percent of the qualified construction costs.* Grant is available quarterly on a first come first serve basis. Learn More

Residential properties and properties outside of Raleigh are not eligible. Exterior projects are also not eligible for the grant.

Cadence Cash Grant and Equal Access Fund

The Cadence Cash Grant is a grant geared toward community-driven and impactful entrepreneurs or small businesses. Businesses much demonstrate its impact on the community such as creating new jobs, innovating new products, or making products and services more accessible. The grant is available quarterly and for $5000. Learn More

SBA Growth Accelerator Fund

This fund awarded to organization who will compete in two stages for $50,000 to $200,000 in prizes. The competition is geared toward businesses who contribute to National and Economic Security, Domestic Manufacturing and Production, Sustainability, and Biotechnology. Learn More

Incumbent Worker Training Grant Program

This program offers a competitive training grant program that provides eligible employers with monetary awards for upgrading the skills and knowledge of their existing workers. Businesses can receive up to $25K per program year. Learn More

DRA Storefront Upfit Grant

The program is specifically intended to help new storefront businesses and expanding retail businesses with upfit and one-time stand up expenses. Check to see if you qualify. The grant is evaluated quarterly but applicants will receive a response shortly after submitting their application. This is for Downtown Raleigh Businesses only.

Create a Business Plan Workshop 

Spanish Speaking Business Owners, Attend a Workshop to Learn How to Start a Business or Create a Business Plan! The City of Raleigh is partnering with Wayne Community College Small Business Center and the Hispanic American Chamber of Commerce to hold workshops for Spanish-speaking small business owners. Small Business Roundtable Event for New Bern Avenue Businesses
