North Raleigh Music Event Benefits American Red Cross

919 Music Fest Also Recognizes First Responders on May 22, 2016

The 2nd Annual 919 Music Fest is an all-day live music event in North Raleigh raising money this year to benefit the American Red Cross – Eastern North Carolina Region, and recognizing first responders and their families in the Triangle.

Sponsored by Sir Walter Chevrolet, the 919 Music Fest is presented by 919 Magazine and planned for 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 22, 2016, outdoors on the open air grounds near 8501 Glenwood Avenue (just south of I-540) in North Raleigh. In addition to providing financial support for the local American Red Cross chapter – which often times provides the initial first responders in local emergency situations — the special event will provide opportunities to recognize and pay tribute to police officers, firefighters, EMS personnel, military personnel and National Guard and their families.

The event is open to the public and includes live entertainment throughout the day, local vendor booths, food trucks and tents, a beer and wine garden, and more. A special Kids Zone is planned for the family friendly event. Over 3,500 people attend last year’s first festival and even more are expected this year.

“We are so excited to bring this exciting live music event to North Raleigh for the second consecutive year,” said Suzy Beth Sarver, publisher of 919 Magazine. “And we’re very thankful to Sir Walter Chevrolet for their continued support – and, of course, appreciate the involvement of the bands to help raise money for a wonderful organization – the local chapter of the American Red Cross – that provides support, shelter, food, comfort and more to residents in the time of emergency.”

A full line-up of the bands and performers will be released in March along with sponsors and community partners listed in marketing collateral and 919 Magazine’s Mar/April and May/June publications.

Organizers seek additional volunteers to support the effort – and vendor registration will soon be under way. Additional sponsorships also are available to local businesses.
