Edward McKay Used Books & More Kicks Off Monkey Shines to Keep Kids Reading All Summer Long

Raleigh, NC — June 15, 2016 — Edward McKay Used Books & More is helping kids keep the reading habit even over the summer with its annual Monkey Shines summer reading program. 

Participation is free.

Monkey Shines is for kids aged 5-12 and takes place between June 13 – August 13, 2016. The idea is simple: read books, get trade credit to spend at Edward McKay! 

(Kids do not have to get their reading materials from Edward McKay in order to qualify for trade credit rewards.) Sign-up sheets are available at each Edward McKay location. 

Every sign-up sheet holds information about ten books. When ten books have been read and a sheet is filled, kids return it to Edward McKay for $5 in trade credit. 

There is a turn-in limit of one sheet per child per week. 

On August 13, an all-day Monkey Shines Celebration will be held to celebrate kids and reading.
