And speaking of Small Business Saturday….

Shop Small

Small Business Saturday is an effort to encourage you to Shop Small the Saturday after Thanksgiving week. Since its inception in 2010, Small Business Saturday has generated an enormous amount of revenue for local communities and in 2017 7,200 businesses across 50 states had signed on as Local Champions to support the initiative.

“Since Small Business Saturday started,
U.S. customers have reported spending
an estimated total of $85 billion1 at
independent retailers and restaurants —
that’s $85 billion over 8 days alone.” – AmericanExpress.com

On November 24, step out into Wake County and find your locally owned boutique, hardware store, restaurant, salon, gift shop, book store, the list goes on and on. Make a resolution to improve our county and strengthen the businesses that gave Sam her first job, or provided a scholarship for Traci to attend college. That’s what the holiday spirit is all about right? And our local business members like The Green Monkey have the gifts you need. See The Green Monkey’s Facebook page for a schedule of their happenings on Small Business Saturday. Be sure to visit our member directory for all the independently owned local business members.

Still have items left on your list? Finish it off on Cyber Monday!

Shop Dazzle & Lace, Craft Habit, and more on Cyber Monday for special after holiday special. And don’t forget the most important day of the month, #GivingTuesday. Give back to a local non profit, or shop at a retailer who is giving back. Find a list of local non profits on our web page. Purchase furniture at The Green Chair Project, stop for lunch at A Place At the Table, donate funds to ComMotionNC for their dance program for vets and cancer patients, or drop canned goods at local food drives. The Blood Connection has several blood drives set up around the area and is in much need during the holidays. Consider donating 30 minutes of your time and a little blood. You never know whose life you might save.

Bottom line, when you spend locally you fuel our economy. So Shop Small this holiday season and watch our community bloom. Happy Holidays from Shop Local Raleigh!  #smallbizsat #shopsmall #shopindy #weshopsmall
