Burning Coal Theatre Company is an intimate, professional nonprofit theatre based in Raleigh, North Carolina, dedicated to producing bold, thought-provoking performances that audiences experience on a visceral level rather than simply observe. Founded in the late 1990s, the company collaborates with local, national, and international artists to reimagine classic works and develop new plays that explore meaningful social themes. Known for its high-energy productions and minimalist style, Burning Coal operates out of the historic Murphey School Auditorium and remains committed to inclusive casting, artistic innovation, and engaging the community through impactful live theatre.
