Spurred on by a creative drive and a desire to change careers, partners in business and in life Jud Patterson and Suzanne Taylor decided to reinvigorate local t-shirt maker Oak City Collective with innovative ideas and new products. Using designs exclusively created by local artists, Jud and Suzanne expanded Oak City Collective’s line of products from t-shirts to beer mugs, and even to customizable bottle openers. All their products are locally focused and have the spirit of North Carolina embedded within them. 
Jud originally moved to Raleigh in the early 80’s as a software engineer for IBM but always had a creative side to him. For years he created custom t-shirts and engraved glassware out of his garage as a side job but it wasn’t until he met Suzanne that he decided to make it a full time gig. Suzanne has worked as an airline pilot, CPA, and as an investigator for the state but always had a passion for design. Fueling each other’s creative passions, Jud and Suzanne decided to buy Oak City Collective and take the brand to new places. Oak City Collective’s quality products are always expanding and we at Shop Local Raleigh cannot wait to see what they have in store for Boutique Blowout this year!
