Bog Bowl Workshop at Urban Pothos 8/30
Join Urban Pothos for an entertaining carnivorous plant exploration. They’re building miniature bogs that can support the life of two carnivorous plants of your choice plus some additional non-carnivorous plants.
Your ticket includes:
– The glass container for your bog
– All materials needed to build your bog
– Two carnivorous plants of your choice
– An additional accessory plant + live moss
– Decorative items for your bog

African-American Cultural Festival 8/31-9/1
The African American Cultural Festival of Raleigh and Wake County (AACF) is back for its 15th edition! Head downtown on Labor Day weekend, August 31st – September 1st for a unique celebration of African American culture as expressed through art, music, food & community. This family-friendly event is free and open to the public, welcoming all to explore the creative offerings of some of North Carolina’s most talented local, regional and national artists.
In addition to juried art and merchandise vendors, their vibrant African Marketplace will feature handmade wares, artisanal foods and traditional crafts for sale. The Family Village also offers fun crafts that are perfect for young explorers. More info.
Raleigh Kid’s Treasure Hunt 8/31
Triangle Treasure Hunt is hosting a treasure hunt for kids. Guests will meet at the Color Pop Corner (102 S. Blount St., Raleigh, NC 27601) and then depart with their treasure map on a walking team scavenger hunt where they will use their minds and feet to follow clues, solve puzzles, and crack codes to find and unlock the treasure chest for a grand prize!
Puzzles are geared toward kids ages 12 and under with some parental help. The scavenger hunt portion is perfect to complete as a family. The hunt involves walking up to 1 mile in total and will take place rain or shine, so long as the weather does not become dangerous. The hunt typically takes about 60 minutes to complete. Children under 3 years old are welcome to participate for free with the purchase of an Adult ticket. $12-$15/person 10am. Tickets

From selecting the right plant to choosing the right pot – this class at Copperline Plant Co. will cover the fundamentals of houseplants! Whether you’re a beginner plant parent or you’re just hoping to learn a few new tips and tricks, this is the class for you!
The class will last about 1.5 hours and attendees will repot and take home a beginner friendly plant. Classes are BYO, so come sip on something while you learn, if you’re so inclined! 3pm. $35/person. Tickets

Saving Grace’s 20th Birthday Party 9/2
Come celebrate with Saving Grace Animals For Adoption on Labor Day to honor their Labor of Love in rescuing 50,000+ dogs to date! Meet the next generation of adorable, adoptable pups that will be future Saving Grace alumni! They’ll have live music, food and drinks, ice cream, face painting, a scavenger hunt, and adoptable dogs.
