PineCone and the NC Museum of Natural Sciences are seeking volunteers to serve as sighted guides at various events throughout the year for people who are blind or low vision. Two upcoming opportunities to serve as a sighted guide include BugFest on Saturday, September 15 and the PNC Presents Wide Open Bluegrass Festival, Friday & Saturday, September 28-29.
No experience is necessary, however, training is required. Two training sessions are being offered on either Thursday, August 23 from 6:30 -7:30 p.m. or, Sunday, August 26 from 4-5 p.m., at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh.
Perks for volunteering at the PNC Presents Wide Open Bluegrass Festival include Bluegrass Ramble showcase admission, T-shirt, free parking and more.
