The RDU Mobile Food Association Announces First Annual Tacopalooza Food Truck Rodeo and Competition

The RDU Mobile Food Association (RDUMFA) is pleased to announce the date of their first annual Tacopalooza food truck rodeo and competition, August 20, 2017 at Knightdale Station located at 810 N First Ave., Knightdale, NC 27545. Join Tacopalooza for a taco-filled day from 12 PM to 4 PM.

With 10 food trucks participating, Tacopalooza’s mission is to highlight the best tacos in the Triangle. Each mobile food vendor is required to only serve tacos or taco themed foods. Admission is free and attendees can purchase tacos directly from each food truck.

Expect to find games and fun for the children like a bouncy house and slide. “Taco ambassadors” will also give away Mexican Fortune Tacos or “TAKITOS” during the day, thanks to in-kind sponsor TAKITOS. Other events are as follows:

1 PM: A judges panel will convene to select a victor for the best taco. The winning food truck will receive a trophy.

2:30 PM: Up to ten participants will compete in a taco eating contest to see who can finish 12 tacos in the fastest timeframe. The winner will receive a plaque and a $50 gift certificate to spend at any RDUMFA truck. The cost to compete is $10. To register for the contest, please email ceo@rdumfa.org.

3 PM: Children can enjoy a piñata bust filled with candy and prizes.
