A professor of literature at NC State University and author of “Gods of Noonday” and “A Different Sun,” Orr is receiving rave reviews with her coming-of-age novel set in Winston-Salem, NC in the mid-60s, following Tacker Hart as he navigates the tumultuous years of the American civil rights movement.
