Quail Ridge Books is delighted to be the launch site again for the WAKE Up and Read Book Drive Kickoff for 2017. Join them this coming Saturday, January 21st for a fun afternoon celebrating literacy with celebrity readers, creative activities for children, face painting, and an appearance by Wake Up’s mascot, Ruben the Rooster. Other special guests will be announced soon.
The 4th annual WAKE Up and Read book drive will run from January 21st through March 4th. The goal this year is to collect 110,000 new or gently-used books for children ages birth to 12 years old. Any books purchased from Quail Ridge for donation to WAKE Up and Read receives a 20% discount. Of course, any gently-used children’s books are accepted. Look over your bookshelves for children’s books you’ve finished with and bring them in. A collection bin will be prominently displayed in the store through January 29.
