The temperatures are dropping and we will have the feel of fall running. With cooler temperatures, the leaves falling, winter running will be here soon. Time to RUN with Team Fit & Able!
Fit & Able Productions is a Cary-based non-profit that serves area youths and families in competitive and recreational sports. Our winter season training program focuses primarily on running, conditioning, and racing. Kids of all ages and skill levels are welcome to participate, and parents too! Team Fit & Able is a USATF sanctioned club and USATF membership is required to join the team.
Team Fit & Able brings USATF Certified Coaches together with athletes that want to accelerate their training while having fun reaching their goals. The focus is on increasing distance, improving speed, and preparing for racing. We adhere to USATF’s principle goals to encourage and facilitate our youth to develop physically through team practices and meets, emotionally through growth and positive self-image, and socially through development of friendships and interaction with positive role models. Weekly practices are designed to help athletes set and reach personal goals in both track and field events.
The Fit & Able Winter Training Team (WTT) offers a wide range of training for elementary school kids through senior masters. All ages, skill levels, and abilities are welcome and encouraged to participate. Younger athletes are strongly encouraged to have their parents stay with the team during practice and racing. We encourage all our members to take part at whatever level they wish to participate, whether its improving their running abilities or just wanting to walk for fitness.
Runners will be encouraged to set goals and work to attain those goals during the course of the season. As we build our running skills, we will be going a bit longer each practice based on the athlete’s goals and abilities.
Athletes that sign up for the practice-only session will have the opportunity to register for races separately.
This team is sanctioned by USA Track & Field and requires USATF membership to participate.
